Our Training Officer, Richard Metcalfe, ran a very successful training week during the 1^st week of April. An enthusiastic crew of 6 were taken through their paces in pursuit of Competent Crew, Watch Leader, Mate and Skipper gradings. Whilst the wind wasn’t as good as we had hoped, the programme was expertly delivered by Richard, with everyone getting involved in as many skills as possible throughout the week, from man overboard to spinnaker training to the manoeuvring peculiarities of Overlord. A full on week with plenty of learnings whilst enjoying some great onboard cooking and evening drinks in the Spring sunshine. This year has seen another challenging refit period, with many repairs needed to be carried out but a huge thank you to all those members that gave up their precious time to help the club get Overlord into a fit state to sail this year. Without members help, we would not have had the boat ready.

The OCC is pleased to announce the launch of its new website and membership system. This will allow members to register and sign up for trips online and make payments. The new site also features a members directory allowing us all to make direct contact with each other.

This year’s AGM at the Worthing Sailing Club saw a great turn out by everyone, despite the appalling weather. For those that missed out there were some interesting reports and member discussions.

Minutes of the meeting can be seen here in the Member Docs area but the key outcome was an urgent requirement for a new Treasurer. If anyone has an interest in this role, which should only take up to 1 hour/week maximum, they should contact….
